The Choir represented Argentina in this competition in four categories in which more than 350 choirs and vocal groups took part from 60 different countries: Sacred Music a Capella, Sacred Music, Mixed Choir and Folkloric Music. The Choir won medals in all four categories, Gold Medal for Sacred Music a Capella and Silver Medals in the other three.

This independent group has been preparing this demanding repertoire since 1999, which includes works by argentine composers such as Roberto Caamaño, Alberto Ginastera, Antonio Russo and Astor Piazzola, to be able to present it in accordance to the strict Olympic rules required both in so much as to technical precision as to academic musical level. For having won 1st Prize for Mixed Choir in the 13th International Franz Schubert Competition in Vienna in 1996, the Choir was selected by the Olympic Committee to participate directly in the Final Round. The Olympics took place for the first time in 2000 and were organized by the Musica Mundi Choral Association. It was the first time that an Olympic event of this character and magnitude was organized, gathering over 15000 singers from all over the world. Being the biggest choral competition held ever, the Coro de Camara Adrogue representing Argentina proudly acquired a privileged place in the individual competitions and the general outcome.

With this brief summary we try to diffuse this activity which is so dear to us and managed in this independent manner means a enormous effort only exceeded by the conductor's willpower and by the singers and friends who joined us thinking that music makes everything worthwhile.
